At Hickory Senior Living, you’ll find a cozy, Southern community that offers physical support and a welcoming and active environment for your loved one.

About the Community

Here at Southern Magnolia Iuka, we know that senior living isn’t one-size-fits-all. Each senior who comes to us may be in a similar time of life; however, every person’s situation is unique, which is why we offer a variety of options in our senior care levels.

For those with higher levels of need for care we offer both assisted living and special care. In our assisted living facility we still promote independence, while providing more assistance with medicine administration and monitoring, help dressing and getting out of bed if necessary, and more. Our special care program helps stimulate the body and mind of your loved one in a time when they need more assistance.

Services & Amenities

Independent Living

For those seniors who still desire to live independently, but just need a little assistance with day-to-day activities, Southern Magnolia Iuka offers our Independent Villas. Our Villas allow you to maintain your independence while providing the security of a professional staff just minutes away to offer any type of services you may need. Make yourself at home with your own furnishings and décor and have the benefit of a maintenance-free lifestyle. Enjoy a cup of morning coffee on your covered front porch or back patio. Cook for yourself or come join the Southern Magnolia family for a delicious home-cooked meal in our main community dining hall.

Our Independent Villas offer two-bedroom, one-bath homes with all appliances including a full size washer and dryer. All utilities, as well as cable, are covered in your monthly rent. Southern Magnolia can customize a plan to suite your needs by adding additional services including meals, housekeeping, grocery shopping, and medication management which are available for an added charge.

Assisted Living

Southern Magnolia is an assisted living community, which provides our residents with assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s). ADL’s include, but are not limited to, assistance with bathing, dressing, housekeeping, medication assistance, and laundry services. Our compassionate staff members are trained to serve and ensure your loved ones receive the care they deserve in this important stage in their lives.

Our individual care plans allow Southern Magnolia to customize a plan to meet each of the specific needs of our residents. Some residents require little or no assistance with certain ADL’s, but may require full assistance with others. In addition, these needs most likely will change over time as folks grow older. Our all-inclusive rates allow families to not worry about additional costs fluctuating daily based on the care the resident needs.

Peace of mind is achieved knowing that your loved one is in good hands with Southern Magnolia’s considerate and caring staff to assist them with all of their personal needs around the clock.

Special Care

Southern Magnolia features a secure Special Care Wing that is designed for residents who do not require skilled nursing care, but do require extra attention due to dementia and other memory loss issues. We have created an environment with this group in mind that takes into account the daily needs and challenges of both residents and caregivers. Our staff has been specially trained to meet the unique needs of residents with dementia and also the special needs of family members dealing with this disease. When searching for caregivers to work at Southern Magnolia, we look for people who prove to have a nurturing servant’s heart and loving spirit. We want people who not only provide the daily assistance that your loved one requires, but by second nature, give a little extra love, compassion and respect every time the opportunity presents itself.

Our Special Care Wing consists of rooms with baths, spacious dining and a day room. Our gated and covered patio is great for dining outdoors or participating in a variety of our planned activities. Enjoy comfort and peace of mind knowing your loved one is in a secure, safe and loving environment managed by a professional staff. These advanced services afford most residents the ability to stay in an assisted living environment and avoid a skilled care nursing home for a longer period of time.

Meet Our Team

We are pleased to announce that Regina Bennett is being promoted to the position of Executive Director at Southern Magnolia Iuka. Regina Bennett started her nursing career at NMMC in 2001. While attending North East Community College Nursing Program, she worked as a CNA until graduation in 2002. Regina was then promoted to NMMC Home Health RN. She began seeing patients of Southern Magnolia through Home Health and fell in love with the atmosphere. The residents lead her to want to work at Southern Magnolia and be apart of a great team. In December of 2010, Regina was hired as RN at Southern Magnolia Iuka. She later joined our sister facility in Golden as a RN. We are excited to have Regina’s extensive experience and skills as a part of the Southern Magnolia family.
